 When the Matariki stars appear it is the beginning of the Maori new year 

We celebrate Matariki  like we celebrate your birthday

Like sisters the stars shine bright like a diamond 

Matariki is a time for joy like when I go to the trip 

It is a time to learn like like when am at school

It is a time to plant crops like pumpkin 

It is a time to fish and hunt 

It is a time to make things like art

It is a time to for give to my mum

Matatriki reminds me of the new year because we celebrate with fireworks.

At school I show confidence by speaking in front of the entire class

 At room 1 and 2 we had buddy class. We talked about our tinana (body) the little kids had to pick one of us.

At soccer we played with other schools.  I loved eating and cheering our school on.  It was my first time playing inter-school sports.

The trip at the museum

 

At the trip we went to the volcano exhibition.  When the volcano exploded little kids get burnt.  I learnt that the  soldiers died for us in the past.

On Monday at the maritime trip we saw an man and it looked like Mr Sok and it was talking to us it was also blinking. After that we went on the waka and we were learning about the waka and we played game's. Later on we made a waka and it was fun.

 

Making a tapa cloth

 We made a tapa cloth today we had so much fun.

I like my friends tapa and my friend likes my one too.

We all had so much fun making the tapa today with Mrs Cox.

This is how to make a tapa cloth but it is really hard to do it, so you get a piece of paper then get a pencil to do your pattern then copy it with black vivid, Then you dye it with red.
